On Wednesday afternoon, we needed a little break from eating, so we wandered into the Museum of the Weird and forked over $5 each to see shrunken heads, two-headed animals, wax figures, and other assorted oddities, including a quick sideshow act by Marti Motormouth, who had just returned from an East Coast tour. He entertained us (and made us cringe) by closing his hand in a raccoon trap and hammering nails into his nostril.
It was an amusing way to kill some time before dinner, and I was happy to learn that the admission price went towards the care of their collection of rescue lizards. Plus, I'm always a fan of Bigfoot paraphernalia, of which there was plenty!
Then we headed back to the hotel to prepare for our dinner feast at Uchi. On the way, I snapped a photo of my favorite building in the Austin skyline:
