Whip In (Fork it over, Austin! - Part I)

I've been in Austin for four hours now. I'm pretty sure I'll never leave.

I'm here for the week with some of my colleagues at Tasted Menu; we're attending SXSW Interactive and spreading the word about our iPhone app launch and our Austin launch. And eating everything in sight.

Famished by the time we landed in town around two in the afternoon, we decided on lunch at the strangely named Whip In, a convenience store/beer and wine shop/music venue/Indian restaurant just off of S. I35. Grungy on the outside; awesome on the inside.

I immediately fell in love and decided never to return home. Fancy beers, a wine tasting bar, an indoor stage and an outdoor stage...what's not to love? And the food...perfect. Just what we needed to kick off the trip.

I got an awesomely named "panaani" (naan + panini).

Alex and Sam got rice bowls.

We also tried the samosas.

We have so much eating to do in so little time that I doubt we'll have a chance to return, but if I lived in Austin, I'd definitely be a regular here.
